Welcome to the Sacred Story Hub

A repository of personal accounts and stories of sacred moments told by those who have experienced them. The Sacred Story Hub features shared moments between patients and their healthcare providers which may occur organically at times of crisis, great joy, or during quiet times. Sharing stories can provide support, encourage understanding, foster connections, inspire others, and create change.

  • "The only way I could explain that is it was easier to breathe."

    - Patient

  • "It was a very spiritual moment… it was like being in the Garden of Gethsemane."

    - Nurse

  • "That was something because he [the doctor] totally relaxed me because I was a nervous wreck being in the hospital you know, and he just took the time to care … and took the time to show that he cared and that’s what got me through it…"

    - Patient

Featured Stories

I looked in the rearview mirror and the other driver got in his truck and left. I wish I had walked over to him and asked, “What did you see?” I would have loved to have had his perspective but maybe I wasn’t supposed to talk to him; maybe I was just supposed to absorb it and have faith and believe that something like this could actually happen.
For those eighteen minutes, Kumiko reminded me how we might embrace the imminent depths of our humanity. That we could, without words, stop our skirting across the superficiality of life and tap into something greater than ourselves...
The thing I appreciate most about sacred moments is how spontaneous they are. Most often I’ll be rounding, just going through my daily routine, and then the opportunity unexpectedly coalesces.
